The Tradition Begins

Timilick is home of the #1 Best New Private Course in California as ranked by GolfWeek Magazine for 2010. The course weaves through the pines as if painted with an artist's brush. For indeed it was, the masterstrokes of the celebrated design team of Johnny Miller - World Golf Hall of Famer and winner of 24 PGA Tour championships - and John Harbottle - renowned course architect and protégé of Pete Dye.

The Timilick Tahoe course offers two distinct nine-hole experiences. The front nine is the Meadow nine, ambling through firs, spruce and pine trees at the base of the ridge. The back nine is called the Mountain nine, with elevation changes of up to 400 feet, with magnificent views of the Martis Valley and Lookout Mountain and the Carson Range.

"The course is a good combination of shot-making challenges and natural beauty," Miller said. "Golfers will enjoy how the course flows over the natural terrain and I hope they'll take their time and take in the magnificent scenery. It's definitely one of the prettiest settings I've ever had the privilege to work with as a course designer."

"In fact, I'll go so far as to say they just might be the best three finishing holes in the entire Lake Tahoe region." This past year, two John Harbottle courses made Golfweek Magazine's Top 10 Best New Private Course list, placing him as the designer most in demand.
