The Resort at Squaw Creek

Resort at Squaw Creek is a beautiful meadowland course nestled amid the tree-lined granite peaks of Olympic Valley, home of Squaw Valley USA and the 1960 Winter Olympics. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the links-style course to offer golfers a chance to play in one of California’s most beautiful valleys while maintaining the surrounding natural wetlands. The Audubon Society has certified the Resort at Squaw Creek as a Cooperative Sanctuary due to the commitment toward natural greens keeping methods.

Facilities

Facilities for the vacationer and golfer include four unique restaurants, the luxurious Spa at Squaw Creek, 403 deluxe guest rooms and suites, Mountain Buddies Children’s program, 23,000-square-feet of indoor conference space and 14,750-square-feet of outdoor function space, outdoor pool and water garden complex.

Signature Hole

The par-3 6th hole offers spectacular views of the peaks of Squaw Valley and a challenging over-the-water approach. Carefully select your club. The shot plays downhill to a fairly large, contoured green with protected wetlands lurking behind the hole. Par is a great score here!

Jack Persons
San Francisco, CA
The Resort at Squaw Creek is one of Robert Trent Jr.'s finest. It is a links style course with a layout in the mountains and in a meadow. It has one of the most beautiful backdrops of any course, looking out at the site of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games, Squaw Valley USA. It is a first rate course that does not get much attention. Both the front nine and the back nine are equally amazing. The front nine starts carved into the mountains for the first five holes, making it easy to hit a bad drive into the trees. The rest of the front nine consists of lots of water and marsh. The back nine is beautiful. It spreads through the meadow, winding its way with Squaw Creek. The finishing hole is very much a finishing hole with a narrow fairway and hard 2nd shot over water. The Resort at Squaw Creek is one of Lake Tahoe's best.
