A quaint, secluded area in California of rustic towns, scenic valleys, pristine lakes and gentle running streams. Graeagle is quietly but quickly losing its “best kept secret” destination.
Graeagle is a quaint, historic former lumber mill company town in an area that used to be known as the “Lost Sierra.” Well, it’s not lost any longer, and quite easy to find, but once you get there you’ll feel like you are miles from anywhere. It’s a great vacation choice if you are looking for a true golf get-away to relax and just enjoy life at a simple, slower pace in natural surroundings.
Graeagle is located on Highway 89 just an hour from Lake Tahoe and Truckee, and less than an hour from Reno via U.S. Highway 395 to Highway 70 west at Hallelujah Junction.
On the eastern side of the Graeagle region is Portola, the only incorporated city in Plumas County. Portola is intersected by the Union Pacific Railroad and the Middle Fork of the Feather River. Nearby Lake Davis is well known for excellent trophy trout fishing and camping.

- Frazier Falls Trail — Located at 6,200 feet elevation, discover a gentle nature trail leading 1/2 mile to a scenic fenced overlook of 100 foot Frazier Falls.
- Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch — Horseback riding and western hospitality located 12 miles west of Graeagle. Lead by seasoned wranglers, horseback riders can explore mountain trails, cross creeks and lush green meadows.
- Western Pacific Railroad Museum — In Portola, the museum features railroad history and visitors can climb aboard a collection of train cars and locomotives.

- Grizzly Grill Restaurant & Bar in Blairsden, around the corner from downtown Graeagle.
The Iron Door Restaurant in historic Johnsville, just 10 minutes from Graeagle on Highway A-14.
Jack’s Shack at Sardine Lake Resort 15 miles south of Graeagle.
